He Will Complete It

The day before my first day of high school I cried out to God. I was desperate. I was homes schooled the year prior and I was about to re-enter the world of public school. I was very familiar with this world because growing up I was off and on public and home schooling. However, this time it was going to be different. Right before 8th grade I had come to know the Lord, and I grew a lot. Deep down I felt like high school was going to ruin me. I pictured myself with all the wrong friends, and living a life that no longer desired to love Jesus.

As I walked my dog around the subdivision lake, tears welled in my eyes. I just kept repeating, “Prone to wander, Lord I feel it–prone to leave the God I love. Here’s my heart, Lord. Take and seal it. Seal it for Thy courts above.”

God is so faithful. He heard my cries and kept His promise of never leaving nor forsaking me. He kept His promise of preparing good works for me beforehand that I should walk in them. When I would wander He would bring me back into the fold like the good shepherd that He is. I am weak and He is strong.

Now I am 2 years out of high school and the Lord is still sweet to me.

Do we serve a God that leaves His pottery unfinished? He is a God of completion, and if you are saved you can have confidence that He will be faithful to complete good works in you. You will continue to be sanctified. If you claim to be saved but are actively practicing sin, you have to question if you truly are His child. Thankfully, it’s never too late to repent and surrender your life to Him.

If you trust Christ with your life, you won’t look back and regret that decision. Your life will have been lived to the fullest, and full of more joy than anything else can give.

My own life can verify that!
